Hello and welcome, my name is Gavin Mc Mahon, but I guess you’ve worked that out already, I’m the owner and author of gavinmcmahon.com and I appreciate you taking the time to come and visit me here, it’s a pleasure to have you.
I began online about 5 years ago now, gee how time flies, goes by too quickly for my liking. Anyway, I ventured into internet marketing really by accident, literally, I had an accident at work which left me incapacitated for about 12 months. After three operations on my shoulders, my physical capability was limited to playing around on my new computer. That’s when I discovered so many people were apparently earning an income from the internet.
This intrigued me, because I realized that I would not be able to return to my previous occupation again after the accident, I was a builder and also a trainer/assessor in the construction industry.
So I had to find a way to support myself in the future by other means. With so much time on my hands I delved deeper into the mysterious world of internet marketing and affiliate marketing. Of course the more I researched, the more I realized that this business required more hard work and dedication than those so called ‘gurus’ led me to believe.
Yes, I bought many of their ‘promising’ solutions or fast track marketing courses that were proposed to pave the way for me to creating a sustainable online income. But, I don’t have to tell you about how misleading and disappointing most of those promises were. Of course I did learn quite a lot from some of the good ones, but at a high price.
What I learned was, I needed to find my own path and choose a business model that suited my strengths and abilities, then develop a blueprint and business plan, so I would take it seriously, take actionable steps to achieve my goals and then commit myself to not quit until I succeeded at making a perpetual income from all my efforts.
Which brings me to where I am now, still hard at it, earning and learning everyday about this fascinating business. Believe me, it does take considerable effort and determination to actually earn anything from the internet, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
When I started this website I wasn’t sure what I would do with it, but it became my base for writing about internet marketing and offering tips to you, my visitors from what I have learned and what I found actually works.
Well, that’s part of my story, hopefully I’ll add more down the road that I think you might be interested in, or not.
